The Concrete Manufacturers Association (CMA) is the primary representative of the precast concrete industry. Now in its 45th year, it promotes the use of precast concrete.  The CMA publishes leading industry guides, presents workshops and facilitate training.  The CMA initiates standards in close cooperation with SABS and collaborates with its members in developing new products and services.

CMA Certification Services (Pty) Ltd is a Product Certification Company, accredited by SANAS to provide certification services, according to SANS Specification, to the precast concrete manufacturing industry.  Note;  there is a big difference between CMA Membership and CMA Certification Services - for more information - Click here!

Holders

CMA Membership is not a prerequisite to apply for CMACS certification services and the CMACS Mark of Approval.  Verify mark holders by clicking on the link in the top right hand corner of the home page or by navigating the main menu.  Precast producers not listed here does not carry CMACS Product Certification or the CMACS Mark of Approval.

Municipalities revolutionise reservoir construction to ensure water security for constituents

A component of this programme entails constructing new reservoirs in various suburbs to significantly strengthen existing water-storage and supply capacity. This large investment made into developing bulk-water distribution infrastructure will also support planned large developments, including a mega-city, in the area. Cost-savings are realised in Formwork and scaffolding, as well as concrete and rebar. Three of these large reservoirs, ranging between 25ML and 30ML in capacity, are being constructed using state-of-the-art precast-concrete technology that will provide a higher quality final structure to reduce maintenance and repair requirements over the lifecycle of the infrastructure. M2 FREEWAY REHABILITATION

The project was commissioned as an emergency, after sections of the road gave way and collapsed, due largely to lack of maintenance and increased road traffic. The closing of the motorway obviously caused major inconveniences to businesses and residents alike. After Johannesburg Road Agency made the decision, the rehabilitation started on the 8th February 2019, and was completed nine months later in October 2019. Built by the main contractor Empa Structures, a subsidiary of the Raubex Group, the structure differs from traditional utilitarian bridge construction in that considerable emphasis was placed on its aesthetic attributes, and as such it is referred to as an ‘architectural’ bridge.
